Interdiscount is Switzerland’s #1 full-range consumer electronics retailer (part of the Coop Group) with circa 170 branches countrywide. This makes Interdiscount the densest store network for consumer electronics in the Swiss market.

In addition to their offline achievements, Interdiscount wants to ensure they have an online presence that matches. Customer purchasing decisions are made based on the accurate, detailed product information matched with the speed of finding the right product.

To ensure customers can find the right products quickly, Interdiscount needed to:

  • Reliably link identical and related items across sellers and distributors
  • Classify all items into ERP product groups with consistency
  • Harmonize brand and supplier names for accurate matching
  • Keep product data fresh, searchable, and up to date multiple times per day—without adding manual workload

How Onedot Helped

Interdiscount chose to integrate Onedot directly with their ERP to seamlessly integrate automated classification, brand-name harmonization, and the linking of related products using AI. 

Automated data pipelines group identical and related products, after which AI-assisted product classification assigns and harmonizes almost 1,000 product categories. In addition, brand and supplier names are standardized, enabling reliable matching on identical products across multiple input sources. 

Data quality is of the utmost importance, with clean & structured data delivered multiple times per day via the Onedot SFTP endpoint. Interdiscount has the option to include human-in-the-loop feedback to improve mappings and model accuracy. As an additional quality measure, the Product Data Model (PDM) and Product Data Export (PDE) are imported to Onedot several times daily, and machine learning models are retrained weekly.

As a result of integrating Onedot with their ERP, Interdiscount has not only significantly reduced manual data preparation time, but also ensured accurate product data consistently. Faster time-to-market, higher findability through classification, matched with precise product information, has led to a better customer experience and lower product returns.
